Public People’s Enemy

A workshop collaboration between the American actor Robert M. Johanson, American playwright Sibyl Kempson and Ibsen Awards/Teater Ibsen.

A Walter Benjamin-inspired word-for word translation of Ibsen’s “Enemy of the People” joined with various depictions of a town-hall-meeting-gone-awry from American pop-culture, including video documentations of local governments and drawing from JAWS, The Oprah Winfrey Show and the wildly uninformed political speeches of US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
